AES prepared an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the AES pipelines and LNG facility that evaluates potential impacts to the environment and natural resources and identifies measures to avoid or minimize those impacts.

The EIA is based on applicable Bahamian, World Bank and U.S. guidelines and regulations.

In September 2002, AES submitted the EIA for review to The Bahamas Environment, Science and Technology Commission (BEST).

The BEST Commission completed their review of the EIA with the support of an international consulting firm and made a positive recommendation to the Bahamas Cabinet.
